Rob Hunter - BA; MA (Social Anthropology); Grad.Dip Psychotherapy
Rob is an experienced psychotherapist who has been helping people overcome depression, anxiety disorders, the effects of trauma and relationship issues for well over ten years.
He has extensive and varied training, integrating psychodynamic and behavioural approaches, eastern meditation practices and empirically supported mindfulness approaches to emotional regulation.
Rob’s depth and breadth of experience in the mental health field enables him to work across a wide spectrum of mental health problems with groups, individuals and couples.
He is an experienced practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi, and this approach to mindfulness, along with his training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (or “D.B.T.”) supports his interest in assisting people overcome long standing destructive behaviours and other difficulties controlling and managing anger and destructive emotions.
He has worked in community agencies, specialist treatment rehabilitation services for people suffering long standing mental illness, and currently for the North Shore Community Mental Health Service, where he works part time in addition to his private practice.
